Ralph Collum
MCSE, MCSA
Before getting into Information Technology Ralph was a chemist. He graduated from USC with a B.S. in Chemistry.
While working for various chemical companies in Columbia, Ralph started doing consulting on the side for individuals
and small business. It didn't take him long to realize that he liked computers more than chemistry.
Ralph now teaches Microsoft and CompTIA classes. On the Microsoft side he teaches XP Professional, Server 2003,
Active Directory, and Group Policy classes. For CompTIA he teaches A+, Network+, and Security+. When not in the
classroom Ralph does consulting on Microsoft technologies. Lately he has been doing a lot of Windows Software
Update Services (WSUS) work and Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2003 migrations. His focus as of late has been Windows
Vista. He has been using it since the early beta versions to ensure product efficiency before he starts teaching
the classes.
Ralph decided to switch careers and go fulltime into the IT field. He came to night classes at Training Concepts
to get his Microsoft certifications. After seeing him in a couple of classes we were impressed with how much he
already knew and how fast he was picking up new content. Once we found out he had teaching experience we asked
Ralph to co-teach a class with one of our senior instructors. The rest is history. Within 6 months of finishing
he classes Ralph started working for TC fulltime.
